Hendrick Construction said it will be the builder for a 5,000-square-foot Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen in uptown.
The Charlotte-based general contractor said the restaurant will be in 1 Bank of America Center’s Urban Garden. It will be the second location for the SouthPark restaurant.
“We want a second location in Charlotte before we take the Rooster’s concept to other cities in the Southeast,” Jim Noble, owner and chef, said in a news release. “We think the Urban Garden is one of the best locations in Center City, and we will benefit from six hotels within a block or so of our location. In addition to a great lunch business, we feel very confident as an alternative to higher-priced restaurants in the downtown area. Rooster’s will be a very comfortable and casual restaurant.”
The restaurant will feature two levels, with access from College Street on the first floor and access from the Urban Garden on the second floor. The first level will contain a wine bar and connect via a staircase to the second level, which will hold the restaurant and kitchen.
The Johnson Studio of Atlanta is the architect.
Construction is expected to begin this summer.
