NC construction employment falls 4.5 percent

Construction employment fell 4.5 percent in May from a year ago, according to the Associated General Contractors of America.
The Arlington, Va.-based trade group said the state shed 8,000 jobs over the year. Construction employment in May stood at 170,700.
From April to May, though, construction employment increased 0.5 percent, or by 900 jobs.
Mining and logging jobs are included in the construction report.
