Taxicab company King Cab has been denied an injunction to prevent the city of Charlotte from awarding Charlotte/Douglas International Airport contracts to three cab companies.
A selection committee had chosen King Cab as one of three companies to hold exclusive contracts to service the airport. But City Manager Curt Walton opposed the idea of awarding a contract to King because two of its owners are felons.
King Cab sued to overturn the process. But on Monday, a Mecklenburg Superior Court judge ruled against King Cab’s injunction request.
The City Council is expected to vote Monday on whether to award the contracts to City Cab, Crown Cab and Yellow Cab.
