Bryant Park property totaling 30 acres sells for more than $6M in foreclosure auction

Thirty acres of vacant land in Charlotte was sold Monday in a foreclosure auction for $6.96 million.

Bryant Park LLC owned the property in Bryant Park near Berryhill Road, Fleetwood Drive and Evergreen Drive just off Freedom Drive.

The lender was Charlotte-based Bank of America, which also was the highest bidder in the foreclosure auction.

The loan was originally $10 million and was dated July 25, 2007, according to foreclosure documents filed at Mecklenburg County Courthouse. The loan defaulted for failure to make payments on time, according to documents.

Bryant Park LLC is listed as having been dissolved as a limited liability company, according to a May 13 filing on the North Carolina secretary of state’s website. The effective date of the dissolution was June 30. The company’s address is listed as 1719 Dilworth Road East.

The property is made of five parcels of vacant land totaling 30.39 acres, according to Bill Halldin, a Bank of America spokesman. It is zoned as a mixed-used development district overlay, he said.

Calls to Latham Grimes, who is listed as the registered agent for Bryant Park LLC and the guarantor on the loan, were not returned.
