Ruddick Corp. reports 1Q net income of $29.9M
Ruddick Corp., the parent company of Harris Teeter Inc., said its second-quarter net income rose to $29.9 million, or 61 cents per diluted share, from $27.5 million, or 57 cents per diluted share, in the same quarter last year.
Ruddick, which is also the parent company of American & Efird, had $1.13 billion in sales for the quarter, up from $1.07 billion in the same quarter last year.
Grocery chain Harris Teeter saw sales increase by 4.9 percent to $1.05 billion from $1 billion in the year-ago quarter.
