Charlotte home prices down 5 percent, Case-Shiller Home Price Index says

Charlotte home prices fell 5 percent in February from February 2010, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Home Price Index.

The city’s home prices were also down¬†1.2 percent in February from January.

Home prices fell over the year in 19 of 20 metro areas tracked by the report, with the exception of Washington, D.C., which had a 2.7 percent increase in February from the same month last year.

Phoenix had the largest price decline, 8.4 percent.
