CHS logs higher revenue in 2010

Carolinas HealthCare System has released its 2010 annual report, saying it had $6.5 billion in revenue for the year, up from $5.04 billion in 2009.
At $3.28 billion, wages, salaries and benefits made up 51 percent of expenses.
The bulk of CHS’ revenue, 72 percent, or $4.6 billion, came from tertiary and acute care services.
The second-largest source of revenue, physicians’ services, generated $1.06 billion in revenue, or 16 percent.
Carolinas Medical Center, the flagship facility of CHS, is at 1000 Blythe Blvd. in Charlotte.
