One small business in Charlotte will be given an “extreme” makeover as part of Small Business Week May 16-20, the city said.
The city, Central Piedmont Community College’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the makeover, which involves five businesses providing up to 15 hours apiece of pro bono services.
The five businesses and the services they will provide:
• The MLC Group: strategic planning/business plan optimization;
• Wray Ward, branding and advertising;
• Reznick Group, accounting and tax advisory services;
• KRS Consulting, sales enhancement; and
• The Employers Association, human resources audit
In celebration of National Small Business Week, the city said it is coordinating an enhanced Small Business Week with more than 25 free or low-cost events and activities to be held throughout the city.
All of the week’s events are geared toward helping the city’s small businesses improve their business operations and grow sales, the city said in a press release.
Mayor Anthony Foxx and the City Council will kick off the week May 16 with a breakfast; the unveiling of the city’s newest small business resource, CharlotteBusinessResources.com; and an announcement of the recipient of the makeover.
