Charlotte Motor Speedway high-def video board to be topped out
The steel frame for what Charlotte Motor Speedway calls the world’s largest high-definition video board is going up.
An event to “top out” the frame is set for Thursday at the speedway’s backstretch.
When a construction project is topped out, it means the highest point of a project has been built.
The final, 40-foot beam is slated to be placed on top of the 500,000-pound steel structure.
