Fifty-one foreclosure homes sold for a total of $1.6 million at an auction Monday night at the Charlotte Convention Center, Auction.com, which conducted the auction, said.
In one of the sales, a 4,510-square-foot home at 2626 Heathlake Drive in Charlotte previously valued at $350,800 had a starting bid of $90,000. In another sale, a 1,720-square-foot home at 5713 Kelden Walker Lane in Charlotte previously valued at $122,000 had a starting bid of $19,000.
Demand is high for Charlotte-area foreclosure homes, Irvine, Calif.-based Auction.com said, adding that it has auctioned more than 120 Charlotte-area foreclosures this year.
Monday’s auction was the third this year for Auction.com. In a Feb. 21 auction, buyers spent $1.2 million on new bank-owned properties.
