There were fewer building permits issued in Mecklenburg County last week than the week before, according to county data, and the total dollar value of the construction associated with those permits was down, too.
Last week, 290 permits were issued, down 1 percent from 293 the week before.
There were 172 permits for one- and two-family homes, 116 for commercial projects and two for rehabs issued last week.
The week before, there were 207 permits for one- and two-family homes, 83 for commercial, two for rehabs and one school permit issued.
The value of the construction costs was $21.9 million last week, down 53 percent from $47 million the week before.
