Italian company brings jobs to Gaston
In a second win in two weeks for Gaston County, Italian company Repi said it will invest more than $5 million in the county and create about 30 jobs.
The investment in Gastonia Technology Park will span three years.
The average wage for the new jobs will be $41,586 plus benefits.
The company, based in northern Italy, manufactures liquid colors and additives, among other things.
A $75,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund is helping fund the project.
The announcement comes after Lanxess, a manufacturer of high-tech plastics, rubber and chemicals, announced last week that it will locate a new facility in Gaston County, creating 55 jobs and investing $15 million during the next three years. That project was made possible in part by a $250,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
