There were more building permits issued in Mecklenburg County last week than the week before, according to county data, and the total dollar value of the construction associated with those permits was up, too.
Last week, 293 permits were issued, up 21 percent from 242 the week before.
There were 207 permits for one- and two-family homes, 83 for commercial projects, two for rehabs and one school permit issued last week.
The week before, there were 140 permits for one- and two-family homes, 100 for commercial and two for rehabs.
The value of the construction costs was $47 million last week, up 143 percent from $19.4 million the week before.
