Thanks to a computer system shutdown, Mecklenburg County homeowners have more time to appeal their 2011 revaluations.

Over the weekend, the county’s servers went down, preventing homeowners from using the Real Estate Lookup system to research property information needed to argue their case.

As a result, homeowners have been given until Monday to file an appeal instead of the old deadline of Thursday.

All appeals must be postmarked by Monday.
