Snyder’s-Lance plans change to delivery system

Snyder’s-Lance said it plans to convert its company-owned direct-store delivery routes to an independent operator structure over the next 12 to 18 months.

The Charlotte-based snack food maker said the conversion will be rolled out on a market-by-market basis.

Snyder’s-Lance said the new structure will create an integrated coast-to-coast distribution network that is better positioned to serve customers.

Currently, about 45 percent of the routes are company-owned, while 55 percent are independent operator-based.

The company’s products include Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Lance brand sandwich crackers and Cape Cod brand potato chips.
