The Charlotte City Council will hold a public hearing Monday for proposed amendments to its controversial towing ordinance.
Residents and businesses have complained about “predatory” towing and excessive fees, leading the City Council to review the city’s rules governing towing. Despite the complaints, last month the council’s Community Safety Committee recommended that the practice not be eliminated.
The ordinance only covers towing from private property, including apartment and condominium parking lots.
The hearing is set for 7 p.m. in council chambers, 600 E. Fourth St.
