Miami-based Lennar Corp. plans to buy 40 sites from Crescent Resources to build homes in the Fort Mill, S.C., Springfield neighborhood.

Thanks to the purchase, Crescent, a Charlotte-based real estate developer, said it will start development of a new section in the community.

Springfield opened in 2006.

The section in which Lennar will build is accessed via a new entrance and street off Merritt Road. Homes will feature three to six bedrooms and be priced starting at $265,990.

The new section will overlook the 12th hole of Springfield Golf Course.
