CommScope settles patent-infringement lawsuit

Hickory-based CommScope said it has settled a patent-infringment lawsuit it filed against a Missouri company.

CommScope, which specializes in communications infrastructure, sued BoreFlex in September, claiming the company infringed on a CommScope patent on improvements to toneable conduit with an embedded wire to carry signal for detection by toning equipment.

Under the settlement, BoreFlex has taken a royalty-bearing license to the CommScope patent, CommScope said.

Publicly traded CommScope has 15,000 employees. The company’s revenues in 2008 were $4 billion.
