Pine Lake Preparatory, the largest charter school in the state, completed the $20 million purchase of its 23-acre Mooresville campus Friday.

Charlotte-based commercial developer Beacon Partners built the school in 2007, and the school leased the property until the purchase.

Tax-exempt bond financing was used in the purchase, the school said.

Pine Lake is tuition-free. It houses kindergarten through 12th grades.
