Charlotte-based Polymer Group said Tuesday it is has temporarily closed its Cali, Colombia, facility because of rain-induced flooding at the industrial park where its plant is located.
The company said it has established temporary offices away from the flooded area and is using its global manufacturing base to serve customers.
Veronica Hagen, the company’s CEO, said the company’s workers are safe despite the flooding.
The company is preparing to quickly restore the facility once the flooding is over, Hagen said.
Polymer Group, based at 9335 Harris Corners Parkway, produces materials for hygiene and health care products. It has more than 3,000 employees worldwide and operates 14 manufacturing and converting facilities in nine countries.
