Charlotte home prices fell 3.7 percent in September from a year ago, according to Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller home price index.
Nationally, home prices are down 1.5 percent over the same period.
From August to September, Charlotte home prices dropped 1 percent. They fell 0.4 percent from July to August.
Charlotte is not alone. In September, prices were down in 18 of 20 U.S. metropolitan statistical areas.
The report also shows that homes in Charlotte have experienced a nearly 15.4 percent appreciation rate since January 2000. Nationally, homes have appreciated nearly 35.5 percent over the same time.
