Looking to increase online sales, Charlotte-based department store company Belk Inc. plans to add 75 information technology workers and invest in a $150 million upgrade of its IT system over the next two years.
Company spokesman Ralph Pitts said the changes are planned for the company’s Charlotte headquarters.
The 75 positions are in addition to 39 merchandising-planning positions announced earlier this year. Those positions are also planned for the company’s headquarters.
Pitts said the majority of the new IT positions will be posted online by January. He would not provide a salary range.
