Wipro chooses Cleveland County for data center
New Jersey-based Infocrossing said it will open a $75 million data center in Cleveland County, creating 17 technology jobs during the next four years.
Infocrossing, an information technology company, is part of India-based Wipro Co.
The announcement comes after Facebook this month said it will build a $450 million data center in Rutherford County in a project expected to create more than 250 jobs during an 18-month construction period and about 45 full-time jobs.
Wipro plans to convert a vacant, 215,000-square-foot building in Cleveland County into a state-of-the-art data center to house clients’ computing operations.
In looking for a location for the data center, Wipro said it wanted a technically proficient work force and favorable operating costs, among other things.
