On Thursday, a walk-in clinic opened at Carolinas HealthCare System uptown practice, Mecklenburg Medical Group.

The new clinic, Uptown Express Care, is on the fifth floor of the BB&T building at 200 S. College St.

The clinic’s physicians treat colds as well as minor injuries. It also offers drug screenings and physicals.

Though the clinic will be open to the general public, CHS seems to be marketing specifically to businesses and employees in the uptown area.

“We feel our location, close to major uptown employers and connected to the Overstreet Mall, will be especially convenient for businesses and their employees,” Charles Rich, a physician with Mecklenburg Medical Group, said.

The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
