Sales of single-family homes, condominiums and townhouses in the Charlotte region fell 23.3 percent in October compared with October 2009, Charlotte Regional Realtor Association reported today.
There were 1,695 closings in October, down from the 2,210 in October 2009 but up 2.2 percent over September’s 1,658.
The average sales price in October was $202,840, up 3.4 percent over $196,204 in October 2009 but down 0.5 percent $203,799 in September.
The average listing price of homes sold in October was $231,491, up 6.2 percent compared with $218,050 in October 2009 but down 0.1 percent from $231,678 in September.
The number of pending residential contracts in October fell 32.6 percent to 1,617 from 2,400 in October 2009 and 2.5 percent from 1,658 in September.
There were 3,875 new residential listings in October.
The average number of days a property was on the market from the time it was listed until it closed was 148, about a day longer than September.
The average number of days a property was on the market, excluding the days the property was off the market or pending, was 112.5, nearly unchanged from September.
