CHARLOTTE — Possible 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is visiting North Carolina just a week before Election Day.
The former House speaker is scheduled to appear at Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte tonight. He will headline a Republican fundraising event that includes a private roundtable with Gingrich for $5,000 per person.
Gingrich has indicated that he will consider a 2012 run for the White House. He’s also pushing Republicans toward victory in next week’s midterm election that will determine the balance of power in Congress.
