Starting at 8 p.m. today, the right eastbound lane of Woodlawn Road over Interstate 77 in Charlotte will be closed over the weekend in order to do rehabilitation work on the bridge deck, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said.
The lane is scheduled to reopen 6 a.m. Monday.
The loop ramp from I-77 south to Woodlawn Road will also be closed.
During the closure, motorists can take I-77 south to Tyvola Road (Exit 5) to South Boulevard back to Woodlawn Road as an alternative route, NCDOT said.
The work is part of an $842,000 bridge-preservation contract awarded to Triangle Grading and Paving Inc. of Burlington.
