Gastonia-based CaroMont Health, a nonprofit health system that includes Gaston Memorial Hospital, announced today that James Greelish has been appointed as director of cardiothoracic surgery.
“The addition of Dr. Greelish to the CaroMont Heart Center allows us to offer to our patients the very best in cardiac care,” Valinda Rutledge, CEO of CaroMont Health, said in a statement. “Dr. Greelish is very highly regarded in his field and his expertise allows CaroMont to expand the excellent cardiac care we offer our patients and their families.”
Greelish, who has a doctorate in medicine from the Wake Forest School of Medicine, served as director of research and education in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Vanderbilt University before coming to CaroMont. He will be practicing at the Carolina Cardiovascular and Thoracic Center in Gastonia.
