Editor’s Notes: Poor streets raise questions about priorities
I brace for it every morning on my way to work. At the base of Exit 3A off Interstate 277, there’s a ripple in the road, an imperfection that looks almost like a speed bump, that has to be approached with caution, lest my tiny Toyota Yaris be thrown around like a bumper car. Mere feet beyond that obstacle lies another potential roadway hazard, what looks like a manhole cover resting at an angle and surrounded by a rough ring of asphalt that can also give an unprepared driver quite a jolt.
