Survey says: Small businesses need money, want the city to help them find it
By Caitlin Coakley CHARLOTTE — A survey conducted by the city’s economic development department suggests that many small businesses in Charlotte need financial help, mostly for working capital, and want the city to help them find it. The 14-question survey was distributed at city and Charlotte Chamber of Commerce events, forwarded to the city’s small business partners and available on the city’s Web site. Responses from the 227 respondents — mostly small business owners or entrepreneurs — suggested that owners’ biggest concern about the city’s small business climate is the ability to secure financing.
