BioNight recognizes achievements, growth in biotech sector
By Caitlin Coakley CHARLOTTE — Notable teachers, researchers, entrepreneurs and businesses in Charlotte’s biotechnology community will be honored at the second annual BioNight: a Celebration of BioAchievement on Feb. 25. Held at Discovery Place, the event will provide an opportunity for members of the biotech community to network and discuss the state of the industry. Last year’s BioNight sold out, said Marjorie Benbow, director of the Greater Charlotte Office of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. “Anytime when the fire marshal says ‘no more people,’ you know you did well,” said Benbow, adding that she expects a similar turnout this year.
