Shaping a Cityscape
A conversation about Charlotte’s zoning ordinance overhaul

Over the next two years, city planners and leaders will design the blueprint for how Charlotte is developed in the coming decades. With the creation of a “Community Character Manual” and a unified development ordinance, the city will define for developers and the community the vision it has for building a livable, sustainable and functional place to call home. As the region’s population and job growth continues to outpace most of the nation’s, these documents will shape our home far into the future: where we work, live and play; the ease with which we move around town; and the sense of place and character our communities embody. On October 21, we’ll bring together a panel of people deeply involved in the process who will share their perspectives, and answer your questions, on how these tools can be used to reshape our cityscape.

Meet Our Panelists:
SHANNON BINNS – Founder and Executive Director of Sustain Charlotte
WALTER FIELDS III – President of The Walter Fields Group Inc.
